SASSA Takes Services to Fernie Local Community

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions for the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency stated it is alarmed concerning the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's SRD no fully functional office focused on service the area on a daily basis. The provider point designed for intervention ordeals a higher inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it tricky with the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much website more resources to allow the servicing of all clients and maximize use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
